Household dinar savings peaked at almost RSD 75 bn in October, and foreign currency savings at EUR 10.6 billion, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) said in a statement yesterday. Household dinar savings experienced a fourfold rise compared to end-2012, "which is a testament of citizens' trust in domestic currency", thinks NBS. "Last year dinar savings increased by around 22% or RSD 10.9 billion, while this year's net inflow of over RSD 13 billion has already surpassed the overall last year's growth," writes the statement released on the occasion of the World Savings Day, traditionally marked on October 31.
