The proposed budget is not for elections, but for development, and will help raise the standard of living for citizens in every sense, as well as economic growth and the country's progress. The budget stipulates higher salaries, improvement of the condition in the healthcare and education sectors, culture, investments into culture, as well as "better social security targeting". RSD 260 million was allocated for capital investments in the budget, and significant funds were also allocated for constructing infrastructure - Morava and Fruška Gora corridors, the motorway to BiH and the Port of Durres, as well as for construction of the railway to Budapest and other destinations - stated Prime Minister Ana Brnabić during the presentation of the national budget for 2020 in the parliament. The document envisions RSD 1,314.5 billion in revenues and RSD 1,334.5 billion in expenditures, meaning that the deficit will be RSD 20.2 billion, which is 0.3% of the GDP.
