Serbia plans to build a gas interconnection with Romania, in addition to the one with Bulgaria, as Srbijagas CEO Dusan Bajatovic announced in Novi Sad yesterday. He said Romania had a new gas field in the Black Sea, which would provide Serbia with a completely new source of "blue energy" supplies. Bajatovic also said the European Committee would support Srbijagas with EUR 48 mn for the construction of the Serbia-Bulgaria interconnection, recalling that the Greece-Bulgaria interconnection was already in progress. We plan to realize the Nis-Dimitrovgrad-Sofia interconnection next year as we have obtained a building permit, Bajatović says.
