IT investments per capita in Serbia stand at over EUR 80, with prospects to increase to EUR 150 by 2025, shows a report on the state of the ICT industry in Serbia published yesterday. "Although it is still far from the EU average of EUR 800, maintaining this growth by 2025 would get us to the minimum value necessary for further growth - EUR 150 per capita," said Vojvodina ICT Cluster Director Milan Solaja. At an online seminar dedicated to the presentation of Vojvodina ICT Cluster's 2020 expert report on the Serbian IT industry, Solaja said that, although the sector had been reporting continual growth until end-Q1, the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic would affect the IT industry, as well. According to Vojvodina ICT Cluster's research at the beginning of the crisis, two-thirds of IT companies have reported a drop in demand and stopped hiring new people, expecting a drop in revenues in the short term.
