The negative influence of the coronavirus pandemic on the Serbian economy will be major, and initial analyses show that GDP drop in 2020 could be 3%, causing the loss of tens of thousands of jobs and an unemployment increase to 13-14% by the end of the year. Those are the results of the analysis offered by the Quarterly Monitor bulletin of economic trends, presented yesterday. "We expect the fiscal deficit to be record high, between 7% and 8% of GDP, with the public debt rising from cca EUR 24 bn reported at the beginning of this year to around EUR 28 bn at the end of 2020," said Milojko Arsić, a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Quarterly Monitor Editor-in-Chief.
