On January 31, the central bank's gross FX reserves stood at EUR 13.6 bn, with gold reserves making up 13%, the NBS announced. The share of gold in Serbia's FX reserves has thus risen from 5.7% reported in 2012 to the present 13%. About 96% of the gold is kept in the form of gold bars, while the rest is kept in coined form. A gold bar weighs around 12.5 kg on average. All gold bars meet the highest international standards in terms of pureness, shape, and weight, the Bank pointed out.
